| Περίληψη: | Nowadays the influence of English on MG is unprecedented. Influences are observed at the lexical level, with loans (ténis < Engl. tennis), loan translations (uranoksístis < Engl. skyscraper), semantic loanwords (podíki < Engl. mouse) etc. What is especially striking though is that during the past decades influences have been attested in phraseological patterns as well as in morphosyntactic constructions. As far as the phraseological patterns are concerned, idiomatic multiword expressions (MWEs) that are calques of the equivalent English ones have been observed. Moreover, influences are observed at the morphosyntactic level of MG too, bringing to the surface new patterns that seem to mimic the equivalent patterns of English. Such patterns are, among others, the emergence of Phrasal Verbs (PVs) in MG, the re-appearance of pre-modified NPs, new cases of periphrastic adverbs, changes in the thematic structure of MG verbs and the emergence of causative form structures.
